Community Service Day Coming Up

Looking for ways to acquire some extra volunteer hours?  Our community service day is approaching fast!
Saturday, February 18th, from 10:00 to 3:00 we will be assisting Birch Community Services with the relocation of their community garden plot.
We will be working alongside Birch staff and other volunteers, taking apart raised beds and digging up irrigation.  Although the project itself will likely take all day, our group is only signed up for the 10 – 3 shift.  Please feel free to come and stay only as long as you are able.
It is likely to be a rainy day, so dress warmly with a hat, gloves, and rain gear.  Wearing good, water-resistant work boots would be a good idea.  If you do not own any, Mr. Birch has agreed to lend out pairs of Danner boots.  If you are interested in taking him up on this kind offer, please visit him at Birch Community Services a few days before our work day and let him know you will be working with our honor society.  At the end of our shift, please return the boots.
It would be very helpful to have an estimate of our group’s size.  Please comment and let me know if you plan to attend.

               When:  Saturday, February 18th, 10:00 – 3:00

               Where:  Riverbend Garden:
                            22707 SE Ulsky Rd.
                            West Linn, OR 97068

What to bring:  Please bring your own sack lunch, work gloves, clothing and shoes which can get dirty, and rain gear.  If you are also able to bring shovels (preferably flat) or rakes, that would be greatly appreciated.

Let’s get together and serve our local community!
